About

Every day, a huge number of shipping boxes travel from webshops to doorsteps. Each one is carried, stacked, left on a mat and opened at a table, then recycled, blank. Shops pay for every one. AdBox lets brands pay for them instead, in exchange for the surface.

From the founder

Before AdBox I ran a small clothing brand, Lumura. It found its customers and grew to a few thousand euros a month, enough to learn the part nobody warns you about: packaging is a bill you pay on every single order and can’t negotiate down. Every box went out blank, got carried to a door, and ended up in the recycling.

Since then I’ve designed and built websites for other businesses, including this one, and worked directly with manufacturers across China, Vietnam, Pakistan, Portugal and the US. AdBox is those two things put together.

We haven’t shipped box one. When we do, it will be documented here in full.

What we hold to

Shared, on purpose

A box is split between up to six brands and prints only when every panel is booked. No brand buys a whole box.

Proof we can back up

A scan shows a box shipped. It does not show anyone looked, and we will never claim it does.

Shops pay nothing

Packaging is a cost small shops can’t negotiate. Taking it to zero changes their margins on day one.

Say where we are

Pre-launch, no brands or shops signed yet. No invented reviews, logos or numbers on this site.

Where we are

  1. Now

    Pre-launch

Founder-run from the Netherlands. Putting together the first pilot batch: no brands or shops signed yet.

  2. Next

    Founding partners

The first brands and webshops to join shape the pilot and are matched by hand, with them, before anything prints.

  3. Then

    Batch fills

Six panels booked, webshops accepted, artwork checked. Rates are set against real supplier quotes.

  4. Q4 2026

    First boxes ship

The first batch is planned to print and ship in the fourth quarter. Dates firm up as the batch fills.

Has this worked before?

On other packaging, yes. FreeWater, in Austin, gives away drinking water paid for entirely by ads on the packaging. That shows people accept the idea; the pilot is how we find out whether it works on shipping boxes.
